Education Research Complete

Education Research Complete provides bibliographic and full text access to a range of education journals. Topics include all levels of education, educational specialties, testing, administration, policy and more. Encyclopedia of Education

Offers a complete view of the institutions, people, processes, roles, and philosophies in educational practice in the United States and throughout the world. Features biographies of influential educators; profiles of historic colleges and universities and of organizations active in the field; and an appendix of full text source documents, including education related legislation, international treaties, and testing methods. 8 volumes.

ERIC

ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, is the go-to database for educational research and provides access to education journals and other resources dating back to 1966. For more complete coverage of educational journals, search in conjunction with Education Research Complete or Academic Search Premier by clicking "Choose Databases."

ProQuest Education Journals

ProQuest Education Journals provides access to hundreds of educational publications, most of them in full text including pictures and graphics. In addition to making information on primary, secondary and higher education accessible, this database also covers information on special education, home schooling and many other topics. ProQuest Education Journals can be searched with any other ProQuest database.

PsycARTICLES

PsycARTICLES is the premier database for access to full text articles from scholarly and scientific psychology journals. Limit your results by population group and characteristics for more relevant results. This database uses the APA's Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms; select "Thesaurus" at the top of the screen for searchable and browsable access. You can also search PsycARTICLES in conjunction with PsycINFO and Academic Search Premier by clicking "Choose Databases."

PsycINFO

PsycINFO provides citations and abstracts for millions of journals articles, books, book chapters and dissertations in psychology, many with links to the full text of the document. The psychological aspects of other disciplines are also covered such as pharmacology, linguistics, sociology and education. You can also search PsycINFO in conjunction with PsycARTICLES and Academic Search Premier by clicking "Choose Databases."

Mental Measurements Yearbook

Mental Measurements Yearbook is a comprehensive guide to contemporary testing instruments in such fields as psychology, education, business and leadership. Select a testing category or publication date under "Limit your results" for more relevant search results. Click "Choose Databases" to select other relevant databases such as Academic Search Premier, ERIC, PsycARTICLES and PsycINFO.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center provides full-text coverage of current social issues. The main goal is to provide a balance of opinions on these issues through original pro and con articles, articles from academic journals, popular magazines, newspapers, podcasts, statistics and more. Browse popular topics or search by keyword. When searching use the advances search to limit your results to peer-reviewed publications or to the intermediate or advanced content level. Opposing Viewpoints is also a series that we carry in print; add "opposing viewpoints" in the series box in your Cavalog searches to find relevant materials in print.

ProQuest Psychology Journals

ProQuest Psychology Journals provides citations and abstracts to many of the leading journals in psychology; most of the articles are also offered in full text with photos and graphics. The topics in this database range from psychopharmacology to social psychology. ProQuest Psychology Journals can be searched with any other ProQuest database.

ProQuest Research Library

ProQuest Research Library provides citations and/or full-text access to 3,000+ scholarly journals and magazines in a wide range of subject areas. In addition to general interest publications, the database covers the Arts, Business, Children, Education, Health, Humanities, Law, Military, International and Multicultural interests, Psychology, Sciences, Social Sciences, and Women's Interests.

WorldCat

Use WorldCat to find books about a research topic that are not available at Holy Spirit Library. Search by title or author if you are looking for something specific, or search by keyword or subject to find something new. Click "Borrow this item from another library" to request a book from another library.

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia

This encyclopedia gives basic information about a variety of topics students may research. Some but not all of the articles contain pictures or graphics. The information in Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia is aimed at grade to middle school students and can be searched in conjunction with EBSCO Animals, Primary Search and MAS Ultra - School Edition by clicking "Choose Databases."

MAS Ultra - School Edition

MAS Ultra - School Edition collects articles from magazines aimed at high schoolers and makes them searchable. Biographies, maps and flags, reference books and a large collection of photographs are also available. Select the Lexile range for your students' reading level under "Limit your results." The information in MAS Ultra - School Edition is aimed at high school students and can be searched in conjunction with EBSCO Animals, Primary Search, History Reference Center and Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia by clicking "Choose Databases."

Primary Search

Primary Source provides full text access to the content of popular magazines for elementary school students as well as the Encyclopedia of Animals and the current edition of American Heritage Children's Dictionary. Select your students' Lexile level under "Limit your results." Primary Search can be searched in conjunction with EBSCO Animals, MAS Ultra - School Edition and Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia by clicking "Choose Databases."

Annenberg Media: Learner.org

Learner.org makes multimedia resources from Annenberg Media available for free. These resources are categorized in multiple ways including by subject (arts, mathematics, science, etc) and education level (K-4, 5-8, 9-12, and college/adult).

C-SPAN Classroom

C-SPAN Classroom, which requires free registration to access content, provides free video clips in the following categories: principles of government, U.S. Constitution, Legislative Branch, Executive Branch, Judicial Branch, and political participation.

Connexions: Sharing Knowledge and Building Communities

Connexions provides educational modules that are created by collaborating educators. The subjects covered include the arts, business, math and statistics, and the social sciences.

Inspiring Teachers

This website offers a mix of free and pay resources aimed at beginning teachers, student teachers, veteran teachers, administrators, and more. Email discussion lists and a newsletter are also available.

Learning Space - OpenLearn: The Open University

Learning Space gives free access to course materials from the Open University, including those in the education department. Subject specific forums are also available.

MERLOT: Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching

MERLOT offers free learning materials, modules, and assignments for evaluation. Free registration is required to participate in discussions or to add content.
