acquisitions

Faculty members interested in having the Library obtain particular titles should send a request to the Library, signed by the Department Chair. Within budget constraints, we will try to obtain the requested title.

circulation

The circulation period for non-reserve items is three weeks. During vacation periods, when the library is closed, the due date is adjusted as necessary. Material is never due on a day that the library is closed. Reserve materials have different circulation periods and generally can be used within the Library for two hours. Reference materials and journals cannot be checked out.

renewals

Patrons are allowed two renewals per item. Items may be renewed by telephone (610-902-8538). Materials on hold for other patrons cannot be renewed.

fees

overdue fines

Regularly circulating overdue books accrue fines at the rate of ten cents per day. Reserve material, iPads, and laptops are fined ten dollars for every day they are late. DVDs, other audio-visual materials, and Newbery and Caldecott books are fined one dollar for every day they are late. Materials do not accrue fines on days when the library is closed.

lost items

Borrowers will be charged the cost of replacement, i.e., the price of the item plus a $25.00 cataloging/processing fee for materials that are lost or damaged. If the material is no longer in print and the Library is unable to replace it, a flat fee of $50.00 will be charged to cover the cost of comparable replacement materials, plus the $25.00 cataloging/processing fee.
