Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Instructions

The following instructions are meant for faculty ,staff and students using the Roxio software provided in the library's main floor lab. These instructions show how to create and burn a CD.

  • First you need to open the correct program. Go to Start-> Programs -> Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 -> Applications -> Easy CD Creator

  • When the program screen opens you need to decide whether you are burning a music CD or a data CD. Go to the File menu at the top and choose what type of CD you are creating.

  • Next you want to give your CD a name. Right click over the default name in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and choose Rename. Give your CD a meaningful title.

  • Now you are ready to select the files you want to burn to the CD. In the upper left hand corner click on the "Select Source Files:" drop down menu and select the drive your files are located on. You will see your files load.

  • Choose the files you want to burn and drag them to the open box below. The open box represents your CD and the files being burned to it.

  • Once you've dragged all the files you want to burn to the bottom screen click the red record button. Another screen will open. Click on "Start Recording". Make sure you have a black writeable CD in the burner drive before you click "Start Recording". In the library the CDRW drive should be the second from the top. Once you hit record your files will begin burning to the CD. Roxio will tell you at the end of the session whether or not the CD was created successfully.
