Setting up Wireless (Windows XP)
  1. Right click on My Network Places on the desktop.  Then click on Properties in the menu. (If My Network Places isn't on the desktop, you can find it also by clicking the Start menu and clicking the Control Panel)

  2. Right click on Wireless Network Connection (not Local!) and again click on Properties. Scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (if there are multiple, choose version 4) then click on the properties tab.

  3. Both radio Buttons should be checked as shown below.

  4. Next click on wireless networks. Click on the Add button.

  5. Enter info as shown below. “Network Name” must be entered in all lower case. The network name is cabriniwireless. The Network Authentication is Open and the Data Encryption is WEP. You can obtain the Network Key by registering your wireless card at Cabrini Wireless Registration.
  6. Make sure all checkboxes remain unchecked.  Click ok on all open dialogue boxes.  Within an hour, you should be on the wireless network.
