The student internship experience, normally completed the summer following the junior year, is an integral constituent of the Science department curriculum. Each student is expected to complete a minimum of 90 hours at an approved internship site to meet the requirement of the program.

The Internship has been a required course in the program since 1980 and a comprehensive internship program has been established incorporating 26 sites, listed below. A wide range of internship sites are available, complementing the various areas of interest in the biological and chemical sciences, including research institutes, hospitals, small biotechnology companies, environmental centers, large pharmaceutical firms, and academia. Students are encouraged to choose an internship experiences that most closely represents their individual career goals.
