The general education program known as Justice Matters develops a common core of knowledge. Students learn skills that will advance their careers and that can be used for the benefit of their communities, linking theory to practice in the world, preparing for professional careers through a rigorous liberal learning experience, and perceiving their educational environment as extending beyond the classroom so that the entire campus community becomes a living and learning environment. 

Students participate in College 101, a College Success Seminar that prepares them for the Cabrini experience. 

Through Engagements with the Common Good (ECG), students take thematic and community engagement coursework, culminating in a capstone in the major field.

ECG courses are extended by The Explorations, courses that provide a broad exposure to various disciplinary experiences. In particular, these courses teach students to understand themselves as products of—and participants in—institutions, creative traditions, the historical process, and value-driven decision making.

The 21st Century Literacies refer to foundational skills and general knowledge. These include skills in information and technology, foreign languages and culture, mathematics, science, and religious studies.
