| On July 1, 2008, Dr. Marie Angelella George took office as seventh president of Cabrini College. From 2003 to 2008, Dr. George served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Saint Anselm College.
"As we celebrate the College's 50th anniversary, I am proud to announce that Dr. Marie George will be the next president of Cabrini College," said Theresa Cavanaugh '74, chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. "Her enthusiasm for this position and for the College's mission, coupled with her expertise in higher education and background in fundraising, make her the perfect fit to lead Cabrini."
Dr. George has an esteemed career in higher education. She held several leadership positions at the University of Scranton, culminating in the post of vice president of planning and institutional effectiveness; and she was a member of the faculty at King's College (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) and College Misericordia. She also served in several executive positions at Mercy Hospital and Health Care System (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.).
Dr. George earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics at College Misericordia (Dallas, Pa.), a master's degree in counseling at the University of Scranton, and a doctorate in organizational leadership at the University of Pennsylvania.
