The Cabrini College Externship Program (a.k.a. job shadowing) provides students with a brief observation-oriented experience (typically from one to five days) in an employment setting related to their educational and career goals.
| Benefits to Students |
- Assists students in confirming their major/career choice
- Prepares students for participation in co-ops and internship experiences
- Helps students build a professional network
- Increases student knowledge of the industry
| The externship will typically take place during a student's school break (Easter, Thanksgiving, or Spring/Winter break), or may be a more informal job‑shadowing experience during the regular school term. Externships are unpaid and do not earn academic credit.
Students must have successfully completed 15 academic credits and have an overall GPA of 2.5. To apply to participate in this program, students must submit an application and Faculty Reference Form, both of which are available at the Career Services Office in Grace Hall, Room 160.
