News and Advertising in Political Campaigns
Now that the presidential campaign and election is behind us, we can reflect on the ads and news stories. Chapters 10 and 11 provide much background on what shapes news reporting and how advertising is used in campaigns.
In doing this paper, rely on important points from these chapters and pick out an ad or several ads and several associated news stories. Analyze the ads and stories and come to conclusions or at least make significant observations. I only expect a 5-page paper, not the definitive book so keep your research in bounds.
To get you started, here are some resources. Whatever internet resources you use, be sure to supply me with valid URLs or Acrobat PDF files so I can examine the evidence. Similarly, I checked out my links, but let me know if any doesn't work so I can send a better one. jzurek@cabrini.edu
