Students at Cabrini can choose their roommates, if they are eligible to participate in housing selection and eligible for the requested housing.
For example, juniors and seniors may not select sophomores to live with them in the Cabrini Apartment Complex or West Residence Hall.
To secure housing with roommates, all roommates must attend Room Pick together. Groups of roommates may select housing together at the earliest selection time given to any of the roommates.
If you know in advance that you are unable to attend Room Pick with your preferred roommates, you may come to the Residence Life Office in person and designate another eligible student as your proxy to select your housing.
Historically, the demand for housing in certain halls (particularly the Cabrini Apartment Complex) exceeds the capacity of those halls. It is possible that students with later selection times may not secure their first or second choice of housing.
Students should think about other housing options beyond their first or second choices and discuss alternative options with potential roommates.
Students who select an apartment in the Cabrini Apartment Complex or a suite in West Residence Hall as an individual will be housed with random roommates. Groups of roommates that do not fill all spaces in an apartment or suite will have random roommates assigned to those spaces.
Residence Life will consolidate groups with fewer than four residents to accommodate the maximum number of students. In order to avoid consolidation to a different apartment or suite, students should consider selecting an apartment as a group of four, five, or six.
