After receiving randomly generated lottery numbers, students attend “Room Pick” with their preferred roommates, suite‑mates, or apartment‑mates.
Students should plan several housing choices as back-ups in case their first choice is not available.
All roommates must be present at Room Pick to select housing.
After Room Pick, any unfilled spaces become available and may be filled by any eligible student, with no priority between current residents and commuters.
Housing for upperclass students is not guaranteed. If no rooms are available, students with the last lottery numbers will not be able to secure housing during initial selection.
Student who do not select and secure a room during the housing selection process may be added to the housing waitlist.
Residence Life works to fill available housing from the wait list throughout the summer as spaces become available.
Proxy Housing SelectionResidents who are unable to attend Room Pick may designate another student as “proxy” on their behalf to select housing for them.
To designate a proxy, residents must go to Residence Life to pick up a Proxy Form, and must discuss their preferences with the student who agrees to be their proxy at Room Pick.
Students who complete the Housing Application, but who fail to attend Room Pick or to submit a completed Proxy Form to Residence Life will forfeit their lottery numbers, and their priority housing.
After selecting their rooms, students must also sign the Housing Agreement and pay a deposit.
