We all deserve to be delighted. We all deserve to smile. Laughter is "the best medicine” and could definitely take the stress out of our minds.
Speaking of being happy and laughter, April is National Humor Month, started in 1976 as a way to bring awareness to the joy and therapeutic value that laughter can have.
Here are some ideas to make sure you take advantage of this funny month:
- Crack a joke.
- Play a practical joke on a friend or family member.
- Have a funny movie marathon with your friends.
- Watch stand-up comedy live.
- Engage in laughter yoga.
- Make kids and elders laugh.
- Look up some jokes and pass them along to your friends and co-workers.
- Teach jokes to some totally humorless people.
- Just laugh. It is indeed possible, especially when you’re in the middle of a conversation with friends.
- Do something that brings joy and laughter to your life.
- Make a collage of all your funny photos.
- Watch funny sitcoms/TV shows throughout Humor Month.
- Venture out and take a risk by performing jokes on an Open Mic night held at a local venue.
- Make a family laugh library by tape-recording each family member laughing. Keep these recordings for your family archives.
- Throw a humor-themed party to celebrate Humor Month. Have your guests come dressed as their favorite comedian.
Humor is all about smiles, so do something to make someone smile for Humor Month. If you are at Starbucks, pay the coffee bill for the person standing in line behind you. That is sure to make them smile.
