Alcohol and other drug abuse is a serious health and safety concern. We want our students to have a safe, healthy, and successful experience at Cabrini College.
Cabrini requires that all new students complete an online alcohol education program, entitled Alcohol-Wise, because:
-
Alcohol misuse is associated with many negative consequences, including academic failure, injuries, violence, and sexual assault. About half of all sexual assault cases nationally involve alcohol.
-
New college students—who might not have used or misused alcohol previously—encounter increased opportunities to drink and suffer consequences due to inexperience.
-
Although the drinking age in Pennsylvania is 21, college students sometimes choose to drink alcohol because of misperceptions that everyone drinks a lot, peer pressure, curiosity, or their hope to connect with peers.
Part 1 takes approximately one hour to complete, is available April 10, 2011, and must be completed by June 30, 2011. This deadline has passed. Please complete Part 1 as soon as possible.
Part 2, which takes only 15 minutes to complete, will be available for you 30 days after you complete Part 1.
