Cabrini College requires all incoming full-time undergraduate students to be compliant with these requirements.
Immunization information should be submitted by August 1. If a student must wait until a later date to receive a physical exam due to insurance restraints, please notify the Health Services Office so that a notation can be placed in the student’s chart. This does not affect the student's class registration.
Required Immunizations
Hepatitis B: Three doses are required. Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Two doses are required. Dose one of MMR must be administered after the first birthday, and the second given a minimum of four weeks later. Blood test showing immunity is also acceptable. Disease history confirmed by doctor's record is acceptable for measles and mumps only, history of rubella is not acceptable. Students born before 1957 are exempted from this requirement. Varicella (Chicken Pox): Two doses of chicken pox vaccine are required at least one month apart. Positive immune titer verifying immunity or history of disease are acceptable. Students born before 1957 are exempted from this requirement. Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis: Incoming students whose last Td (Tetanus-Diphtheria) immunization was more than five years ago must receive a booster with Tdap (Tetanus Toxoid, Reduced Diphtheria Toxoid, and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine). Tdap is strongly recommended for students whose last Td booster was more than two years ago if they have a history of pulmonary disease (including asthma). Meningococcal: One dose of Meningococcal vaccine (covering serogroups A,C,Y and W-135) is required for all incoming undergraduate students living in campus housing. This requirement may be met through signed waiver. Tuberculosis: In accordance with recommendations from both the American College Health Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Cabrini College Health Services performs targeted tuberculosis (TB) testing. Under these guidelines, TB testing is required of students who are more likely to be exposed to TB or to develop active infection if exposed. Information from health care providers on immunization record determines whether TB testing will be required.
