The Cabrini College Body Image Coalition (BIC) guides and educates all members of the campus community towards a lifestyle rich with body acceptance, wellness, and support.
The group holds educational programs, brings speakers to campus, and hosts events.
The Body Image Coalition at Cabrini College was founded in September of 2007 after Dr. Sara Maggitti, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, recognized the need to address a growing number of students with issues related to eating and body image.
Andrea J. Sussel, LCSW, specializes in this area and organized a multidisciplinary group modeled after one she observed at Bryn Mawr College. Two students, Erin Morgan and Caitlin Mangold, eagerly stepped forward to lead the Coalition alongside a robust list of faculty and staff members.
