New Student Orientation

Welcome to Cabrini College!
New Student Orientation helps the newest Cavaliers become familiar with campus while gearing up for academic success.

This program is academic and social. Students learn about life at Cabrini and meet their classmates, as well as faculty and staff.

Cabrini will offer a one-day Summer Orientation and this two-day Orientation before classes start in August.

The schedule might be adjusted, but the dates will not change.

Friday, August 23, 2013
8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.	Registration and Move-In for Resident Students Assigned Residence Halls
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.	Pastries, coffee, salads, and sandwiches available for purchase Jazzman's Café and Bakery, Widener Center
9 a.m. - 7 p.m.	Visit the Bookstore to purchase books or pick up pre‑ordered books. Bookstore, Widener Center
10 - 11 a.m.	Faculty and staff visit new students in residence halls and welcome them to Cabrini.
10 - 11 a.m.	Keep an eye out for the Phillie Phanatic around campus!
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.	Optional Activities offered by Campus Activities & Programming (CAP) Board, WYBF Radio Station, and more! Founder’s Hall Front Lawn
11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.	Registration for Commuter Students Jazzman's Café, Widener Center Commuter students can check in any time between 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Faculty and staff will welcome them to Cabrini. Students will meet with their Orientation group from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. and should plan to attend Matriculation at 4:30 p.m. in the Dixon Center.
1:30 - 2:45 p.m.	Orientation Group Meetings for New Students New students will go to the classroom noted in their welcome folder to meet their advisors 1:30 - 2:15 p.m. and Orientation Leaders 2:15 - 2:45 p.m. Class of 2017 Photo at 2:45 p.m. on the Upper Athletic Field Students can make any schedule changes from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. and then join their Orientation group for the class of 2017 photo.
1:30 - 2:45 p.m.	Partnering with Parents Workshop (Optional) Widener Center Lecture Hall Join other parents for the first of a series of interactive workshops addressing how to assist students in navigating a successful first-year college experience.
3 - 4 p.m.	Welcoming Mass Nerney Fieldhouse, Dixon Center
4:30 p.m.	Matriculation, a formal ceremony to officially enroll the new class Nerney Fieldhouse, Dixon Center Please plan to be seated by 4:15 p.m. Dress is business casual.
5:30 p.m.	Family Picnic on The Commons Enjoy this opportunity to spend some relaxing time with family and meet some new friends.
6:30 p.m.	Commuter Student Meeting Jazzman's Café, Widener Center Meet other commuters and learn about special resources and services.
6:30 p.m.	Residence Hall Meetings Resident students will meet with their Resident Assistant (RA) and other students living on their floor and in their building.
8:30 p.m.	Class of 2017 Activities Dixon Center Meet other members of the Class of 2017, find common interests, make new friends, and have fun.
10 p.m.	Entertainment for the Class of 2017 Grace Hall Atrium Enjoy a high-energy, interactive show that will leave you questioning your senses!

10 - 10:25 a.m.	Meet with Orientation Group to review the schedule for the day
10:30 p.m. - 12 p.m.	Collegiate Learning Various locations around campus; Orientation Leaders will provide locations.
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.	Schedule Changes and Campus Tours Learn the ins and outs of campus and where your classes will be this semester.
11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.	Brunch Rotations in the student dining hall, Cavs Corner in Founder's Hall New students will meet with their Orientation Group when not at brunch. Rotation 1: 11:45 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. Rotation 2: 12:20 – 12:50 p.m. Rotation 3: 12:50 – 1:25 p.m.
1:30 - 3 p.m.	Real Talk Widener Center Lecture Hall Real Talk is an interactive program for students to discuss their experiences with peers as they begin college.
3:15 - 5 p.m.	Real World: Cabrini - Orientation Leader Skits Grace Hall Atrium Learn about some real things that have happened on college campuses and how you can best prepare yourself for new challenges and uncertain situations.
5 - 6:45 p.m.	Dinner Cavs Corner in Founder's Hall New students meet with their Orientation Group when not at dinner. Rotation 1: 5:05 – 5:40 p.m. Rotation 2: 5:40 – 6:15 p.m. Rotation 3: 6:15 – 6:45 p.m.
7 - 8:30 p.m.	Mansion Tours Mansion Curious about the Mansion and its history? Come find out what the hype is all about in this interactive tour.
8:45 p.m. - 12 a.m.	Entertainment for the Class of 2017 Mansion Enjoy yourself at a fun, free show while getting to know new friends.
