What is Matriculation?
Matriculation is an old tradition, originating at Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and marking the moment when students signed the register of the college or university and enrolled in the institution.
The ceremony signaled the joint commitment of the institution to the enrolling student and of the student to the mission and culture of the new school.
Matriculation served then and continues to serve today as the ritual counterpart to the Commencement Ceremony students will experience at the end of their time at Cabrini.
Following in the grand tradition of Matriculation, Cabrini College invites family and friends to bear witness to its introduction of the entering class and its presentation of the official College register in which entering students will sign their names.
Campus Picnic on The Commons
At the conclusion of the ceremony, everyone is invited to a picnic on The Commons, between Grace Hall and the Mansion.
