Student Diversity Initiatives offers ongoing training for students, faculty, and staff.
Student Training Opportunities
Diversity Leader Training is available for students who regularly work with the Office of Student Diversity Initiatives. Leaders gain facilitation and training skills, increase public speaking proficiency, and have regular opportunities to engage the student body.
They assist with on-going development trainings for students, staff, and faculty, including Safe Zone Training, Ally Training, and In-Class Training.
The goal of training is to create a safe and affirming campus by reducing prejudice and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
Safe Zone Training
Staff and faculty who are interested in becoming better allies for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) students and co-workers are encouraged to sign up for Safe Zone Training.
Ally Training
Students interested in becoming better allies for their LGBT peers and friends are encouraged to sign up for Ally Training.
In-class Training
Presentations can be scheduled during classes on a variety of diversity-related topics.
For more information on these or other trainings, contact the Office of Student Diversity Initiatives at StudentDiversity@cabrini.edu or 610-902-1061.
