Stephanie joined the Cabrini community as Campus Minister in August 2011, after completing a year of post-graduate volunteer service in Chicago.
As Campus Minister, Stephanie works to foster faith development and service experiences for students. She works directly with the Peer Ministers and other student leaders to plan, promote, and organize faith-based service immersion trips, day and weekend retreats, and continuous support of student-initiated efforts throughout the academic year.
Stephanie graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia and then earned her bachelor’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from The University of Scranton. While at Scranton, Stephanie was involved in University Ministries as a student worker and retreat leader. Stephanie helped develop a Jesuit leadership program called Leaders for a Brighter Scranton (LBS).
While at Scranton, Stephanie also was involved in The Community Outreach Office where she co-created and led a food salvage program called Excess Food for Others Recovery Team (EFFORT). During her four years at Scranton she participated in three faith-based immersion trips to New Orleans and Mississippi, Washington, D.C., and Guyana in South America.
In 2008, Stephanie was part of Scholars in Service to PA, an AmeriCorps program. These experiences lead her to participate in a year of service with the MercyWorks Volunteer program at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago, IL. As a MercyWorks volunteer, Stephanie lived in community with 13 other recent college graduates and explored and lived out the values of spirituality, community, social justice, simple living, and professional development while carrying out her volunteer responsibilities as a Youth Care Worker with adolescent boys ages 11-14.
Stephanie believes in the Jesuit motto of “Cura Personalis” or care for the whole person, which aligns well with Cabrini’s Education of the Heart. She is grateful for the opportunity to work in a college community that is rooted in strong values of faith and social justice.
