Melissa Frazier ’12 Birthday: July 12
My name is Melissa Frazier and I am in my senior year here at Cabrini. I am a Political Science, Spanish, and History major with a Business minor. Outside of Campus Ministry, I am the vice president of the Community Service and Outreach Club, as well as of Phi Sigma Iota (the Foreign Language Honors Society), and I also serve as a Student Ambassador. I grew up attending a small Pentecostal church in Virginia which makes Campus Ministry and their events very important to me. I have attended the Project Appalachia trip where we go and work with individuals in Montgomery, West Virginia for the past two years and will be serving as a leader on the trip this upcoming spring. I will also be attending the Rostro de Cristo trip to Ecuador in January. |
Tim Rooney ’12 Birthday: April 26
Hey! I’m Tim Rooney, a senior English major here at Cabrini. I’ve been really involved on campus the last few years, especially with Campus Ministry. I’ve taken part in many retreats here, including Search. I also attended Project Appalachia my sophomore and junior years. Last December, I attended the Rostro de Cristo experience in Ecuador, and it was easily the best thing I’ve ever done. This year, I will be leading the Appalachia experience and Search Retreat and I am really excited. I’m also an RA on campus along with being a member of the Community Service and Outreach Club and Relay for Life executive boards. When I’m not working on one of those organizations or writing a million papers, I enjoy pretty much anything that has Batman in it, good TV, movies, and working on my own writing. I decided to be a Peer Minister this year to give back to the department that has meant so much to me over the last three years. Many of my closest friends on campus have been through retreats and immersion trips, and all of my best memories are from my time being involved in Campus Ministry events. Because of that, it was really important to me to take a leadership role and try to share that same experience of community with other students. |
Cathy Matta ’13 Birthday: October 15
My name is Cathy Matta and I am a junior Mathematics and English double major in the Honors Program. I hail from a small town in Connecticut (no, it doesn’t snow all year long up there!) and am the youngest in a family of five. Some of my interests include writing, dancing, cooking, and acting. At Cabrini, I’m involved in the Math Club, Student Ambassadors, Peer Tutoring, Honors Executive Board, and a few Honors Societies. This past summer, I attended World Youth Day in Spain, representing Cabrini College (if you’re ever looking for the BEST ice cream in Madrid, just let me know!). My favorite commitment (of course!) at Cabrini is my involvement with FL-X, Cabrini’s Campus Ministry Program. As a part of FL-X, I have had the wonderful opportunity of planning and facilitating events (such as our Peanut Butter and Jelly Night), working closely on the campus liturgy (writing the introductions to weekly mass), and have attended and planned many retreats and immersion experiences. I’m always willing to answer questions about our program, and invite you to stop by and check us out (3rd floor of Founder’s Hall). Whether we’re making peace flags, working on flyers, or just shooting the breeze, we love visitors! As a team, our hope is to provide helpful programming and fun activities that not only get students involved at Cabrini, but also hopefully help students grow in their faith and their understanding of the God that loves them. God is good! (All the time!) |
