RADNOR, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2011) – Cabrini College hosts a free concert featuring pianist Sylvia Torán on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. in the Mansion on campus (610 King of Prussia Road, Radnor).
Torán will perform selections from Spanish composers Isaac Albeniz and Enrique Granados, Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera, and Hungarian composer Franz Liszt.
A native of Spain, Torán has performed with orchestras throughout the world, including in Spain, England, France, Australia, Croatia, and New Zealand. In 2009, Torán performed a concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall in homage to Albeniz.
Torán earned a master’s degree in music under the direction of Earl Wild at the Julliard School of Music. The New York Times has described Torán’s playing as “strong, yet capable of ethereal delicacy; her interpretations are passionate but temperate and she has no apparent technical deficiencies.”
