Recognizing the financial need of students in a struggling economy, Cabrini College President Marie Angelella George announced that all money raised for the Cabrini Fund in 2009-10 will be used for student financial aid.
The Cabrini Fund is one of the College's largest annual fundraising initiatives, and raised more than $242,000 last Fiscal Year. The goal for the 2009-10 Cabrini Fund is $335,000.
"Traditionally, The Cabrini Fund has been directed to the greatest needs of the College," said Dr. Marie Angelella George, president of Cabrini College.
"This year, the greatest need is providing students with as much financial aid as possible in their transformational education experience at Cabrini College."
In 2008-09, more than 900 donors contributed to the Cabrini Fund, including alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, and friends of the College. Any unrestricted gift—that is, any contribution not directed toward a particular area or fund at the request of the donor—is counted toward the Cabrini Fund.
Ninety-seven percent of full-time Cabrini students receive some form of financial aid.
