Cabrini to Host Coaches' Clinic to Enhance STEM Education
RADNOR, Pa. (Nov. 14, 2014) —As the Pennsylvania Science Olympiad state office, Cabrini College will host 35 middle school and high school science teachers at a clinic on Nov. 15 to prepare for the Science Olympiad Competition.
Students Receive Leadership Awards At Cabrini Day
RADNOR, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2014) – Six Cabrini College students were honored with awards for their commitment to leadership and service during the College’s Cabrini Day on Nov. 11, celebrating the College’s heritage and mission.
The Mastronardi Award for Service and Leadership was presented to Mariel Delacruz ’16, Ashley Douglas ’15, Mackenzie Harris ’16 and Rebecca Wagenbauer ’16 for their outstanding contributions to leadership in service to the community.
The Nerney Leadership in Community Service was presented to sophomores Miranda Budd ’17 and Michael Burrell ’17 for exhibiting active and sustained leadership in service and outreach programs prior to the end of their first year at Cabrini.
Cabrini College Hosts Main Line Antiques Show

Women's Soccer and Volleyball Garner CSAC Titles
RADNOR, Pa. (Nov. 11, 2014) – On Nov. 8, Cabrini College claimed two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) titles. The women’s volleyball team earned the championship with a 3-1 win over Neumann University, and the women’s soccer team won the championship with a 2-0 victory over Centenary College.
For 35th Consecutive Year, W.W. Smith Trust Supports Students at Cabrini
RADNOR, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2014) —Thirty-two students at Cabrini College will share $69,000 in scholarship funding from the W.W. Smith Charitable Trust in the 2014–15 academic year.
This marks the 35th consecutive year that the Trust has supported undergraduate students at Cabrini. Since 1980, the Trust has provided more than 500 scholarships at the College.
Cabrini Inaugurates Eighth President Donald B. Taylor, Ph.D.
RADNOR, Pa. (Oct. 25, 2014) —Today at 1 p.m., Cabrini College inaugurated its eighth—and first male—president, Donald B. Taylor, Ph.D.
Members of the Cabrini community attended the ceremony which featured remarks from students, faculty, alumni, and Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the religious sponsors of the College.
Cabrini Welcomes Celebrated Pianist and Composer
RADNOR, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2014) —On Oct. 26 at 3 p.m., concert pianist, composer and recording artist, Karen Walwyn, DMA, will perform at Cabrini College (610 King of Prussia Road, Wayne, Pa.)
Walwyn’s performance will feature compositions by Florence Price, the first African-American female composer to have her work played by a major American orchestra.
The event is free and open to the public. She will perform in the College’s Mansion.

Softball Team Signs Youngest Players in Program's History
RADNOR, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2014) – On Oct. 2, the Cabrini softball team drafted two new players, Jordyn and Coy Zajac of Schwenksville, Pa. Head softball coach Mitchell Kline and Director of Athletics and Recreation Brad Koch welcomed its youngest members to the Cavaliers' athletic family.
Jordyn, nine, and Coy, 12, joined their parents, Kim and Chris, and members of the Blue and White softball team for their official signing ceremony before meeting with members of the media.
Cabrini Event to Provide Teaching Strategies and Resources for Child Victims of Domestic Violence
RADNOR, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2014) —On Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m., Cabrini College will host local experts in domestic violence awareness at “Keeping Children Safe: Child Victims of Domestic Violence.”
The panel and professional development presentation is geared toward educators who may encounter child victims of domestic violence in the classroom.
Covenant House President to Discuss Homelessness and Human Trafficking as Executive in Residence at Cabrini
RADNOR, Pa. (Sept. 23, 2014) — On Oct. 21, the Cabrini College Nerney Leadership Institute will host Kevin Ryan, president of Covenant House International, as its Executive in Residence. Ryan is also co-author (with Tina Kelley) of the College’s summer reading book, “Almost Home: Helping Kids Move from Homelessness to Hope.”
Ryan will participate in a day-long program concluding with a panel discussion on homelessness and human trafficking at 7:15 p.m. in the Mansion on the Cabrini College campus (610 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, Pa.)
Panelists include Hugh Organ, assistant director of Covenant House Philadelphia, and State Senator Daylin Leach who introduced anti-human-trafficking legislation which went into effect in in Pennsylvania this September.
The panel discussion is free and open to the public.

Cabrini Hosts Area College Students at Research Colloquium

(August 8, 2014) – A student research team comprised of rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors from area colleges and universities presented their scientific findings on bacteriophages they isolated and characterized as part of the Summer Undergraduate Research Colloquium hosted by Southeastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education (SEPCHE) at Cabrini College. Of the seven-student team, two were Cabrini College students.

Primiano Awarded Regional Faculty Mellon Research Fellowship
Radnor, Pa. (July 29, 2014) – Cabrini College Professor and Chair of Religious Studies, Leonard Norman Primiano, Ph.D., was named a 2014-15 Andrew W. Mellon Regional Fellow in the Humanities by the Penn Humanities Forum of the University of Pennsylvania.
This marks the second distinction this year for Primiano, who in March was one of only six educators in the nation to receive The Kennedy Center/ Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Award (2014).
Cabrini Hosts National Hispanic Institute Collegiate World Series
RADNOR, Pa. (July 15, 2014) — Cabrini College hosted 120 U.S. and international students July 7-11 as part of the National Hispanic Institute (NHI) 2014 Collegiate World Series. The event prepares rising high school seniors for higher education.
Cabrini Hosts Policy Institute on Sexual and Cyber Misconduct
RADNOR, Pa. (July 15, 2014) — Cabrini will host more than 100 education professionals and local police and hospital personnel for The Policy Institute on Sexual and Cyber Misconduct on Aug. 15. The interactive workshop will educate participants on current legal standards, response requirements, and prevention strategies.
Leading expert on sexual misconduct in schools, Katie Koestner, will facilitate the event.
Cabrini Professor Selected to Attend NCAA FAR Conference

Trio to Represent Cabrini at Lacrosse World Championships
Radnor, Pa. (July 7, 2014) – Three Cavaliers will be on-hand for the upcoming 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Men's World Lacrosse Championships.
For the second time, Cabrini head coach Steve Colfer will lead the Bermuda National Team, while sophomore goaltender Hank Altschuler will suit up for the Israeli National Team. Athletic trainer Mary Stein will also act as he head trainer for the Dutch National Team.
Cabrini Elects Three Members to Board of Trustees
RADNOR, Pa. (June 30, 2014)–Cabrini College elected Patrick J. Ward and alumnae Claire Roth ’69 and Mary Elizabeth Senkewicz ’76 to the Board of Trustees, effective July 1. They join 20 Board members.
Ward, Roth and Senkewicz will serve three-year terms. After which, Ward and Senkewicz may stand for re-election for two more terms. As an Alumni Trustee, Roth may opt for re-election once more.
Women's Basketball Claims CSAC Academic Honor
RADNOR, Pa. (June 16, 2014) – The Cabrini women's basketball team was included in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Winter and Spring Team Academic Awards. The club earned a team GPA of 3.62, the highest of all CSAC winter and fall teams.
McDonald Named Men's Basketball Head Coach
RADNOR, Pa. (June 9, 2014) – After four years on the Cabrini sideline, assistant coach Tim McDonald will become the sixth head coach in the history of the Cabrini men's basketball team, Director of Athletics and Recreation Brad Koch recently announced. McDonald replaces Marcus Kahn, who stepped down in April 2014.
Michelle Filling-Brown Receives Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching

Elmer Named Most Outstanding Player in Division III
RADNOR, Pa. (May 21, 2014) –Senior men's lacrosse student-athlete Corey Elmer received the Iroquois National Award for the Most Outstanding Player of the Year in Division III from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Elmer became the program's first two-time USILA First Team All-American, as he completed his career with his second consecutive record setting season.

Cabrini Sweeps CSAC President's Cups

Men's and Women's Lacrosse Advance in NCAA Tournaments

The men's victory also marked the 200th career win for Head Coach Steve Colfer. Entering the 2014 season, only 20 coaches all-time had reached the 200 win plateau.
Cabrini Men's Lacrosse Makes History with Senior Day Win

Michael O’Neill, co-founder and chair of the Philadelphia School Partnership, will address master’s degree candidates and receive an honorary doctor of humane letters at the College’s graduate Commencement, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 18.
The College will award bachelor’s degrees to more than 325 undergraduates and master’s degrees to approximately 545 graduate students. This year marks Cabrini’s 54th Commencement exercises.

Walton-Moss Named Player of the Year, Division III Men's Basketball
