Databases

Use the databases to find journal articles for your research.  You can access the library’s databases from off-campus (if you are accessing these databases from off-campus you will need your Cabrini domain account username and password).  This account username and password are different from your Cabrini One/Email account.  Please check the Cabrini Accounts Management System at https://accounts.cabrini.edu/ or contact the Information Technology and Resources (ITR) Help Desk at (610) 902-8366 or email them at ITRhelp@Cabrini.edu.

Databases are found by selecting the Databases tab on the Library’s homepage.  For education databases select first the Databases tab and then the “Education” subject heading.  Suggested databases are: Academic Search Premier, Education Research Complete, ERIC, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, and Sage Publications.

Cavalog

CAVALOG (named after our college mascot, the Cavaliers) is Holy Spirit Library’s catalog. It is used to find books, e-books, videos, DVDs and other materials held by the Library. CAVALOG is available as a tab on the library’s homepage. Access points are word/phrase, author, title, subject, and series. To find e-books use the Search limits portion of the CAVALOG search screen and set the location to Internet.

Research wikis

Research wikis are web pages used to assist students with the research process. Currently, we have wikis on Education Research, Finding Scholarly Journals in Education, and Writing a Literature Review. See the Research wikis link from the library’s homepage or access the wikis directly at: http://holyspiritlibrary.pbwiki.com/

The Library’s electronic reserves system, eReserves, provides students with twenty-four hour access to selected course reserve materials. Your instructor will alert you if materials are placed on electronic reserve.

Other Libraries

In addition to borrowing privileges at Cabrini College, students may borrow materials in person from SEPCHE institutions and from member institutions of TCLC (Tri-state College Library Cooperative). Links to the SEPCHE and TCLC libraries are available from our homepage. In all cases, students must present proof of Cabrini affiliation and must request a letter of introduction from a Cabrini librarian for use at TCLC libraries.
