Cabrini College invites leaders in the corporate and non-profit sectors to serve as Executives in Residence.
They serve one‑ or two‑day residencies on campus and meet with students, faculty, and staff to discuss their style of leadership as it relates to their work and personal life.
These leaders will be selected for their extraordinary spiritual, emotional, and organizational leadership accomplishments.
The Honorable Renée Cardwell Hughes is the Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Eastern Pennsylvania, which covers the City of Philadelphia and the 17 counties from the Delaware border to the New York border.
She is responsible for the provision of American Red Cross Humanitarian Services including disaster response, preparedness, and recovery, in addition to service to the armed forces.
Judge Hughes retired from the Court of Common Pleas, where she served in the Trial Division. Prior to becoming a member of the judiciary, Judge Hughes was in private practice and specialized in corporate, health care, worker's compensation, and insurance defense law.
Judge Hughes was inducted into the International Women in Homeland Security and Emergency Management Hall of Fame. She was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a Minority Business Leader, and Philadelphia Style Magazine named her one of the city’s Power Women.
