Cabrini College invites leaders in the corporate and non-profit sectors to serve as Executive in Residence.
They serve one‑ or two‑day residencies on campus and meet with students, faculty, and staff to discuss their style of leadership as it relates to their work and personal life. These leaders will be selected for their extraordinary spiritual, emotional, and organizational leadership accomplishments.

Jeffrey Brown is Founder, President, and CEO of Brown’s Super Stores, Inc., an 11-store supermarket chain trading under the ShopRite banner.
He has been nationally recognized for his commitment to providing supermarket options to impoverished areas, or “food deserts,” which previously lacked healthy alternatives.
Under Brown’s leadership, Brown’s Super Stores, Inc., was recognized as one of “The Best Places to Work” multiple years in a row by the Philadelphia Business Journal and has received recognition as a top employer in the region from The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, and NJBiz.
Brown is an Officer and Director of Wakefern Food Corporation, the marketing and distribution arm for ShopRite, as well as the Chairman of Wakefern’s Strategic Planning Capitalization effort and Insurance Committee.
Under Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, Brown is an Officer and Member of the Workforce Investment Board, a Member of the Advisory Board on Education and Workforce Development, and a Member of the Transition Team. He is also an Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, and Vice Chairman of the Philadelphia Youth Network.
Brown was named 2014 Ernst and Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year for his innovative work to meet the needs of impoverished communities through holistic supermarket hubs. He also was recognized by the National Grocers Association as the 2010 recipient of the “Thomas K. Zaucha Entrepreneurial Excellence Award,” a top national honor in the grocery industry.
In 2010, Brown had the honor of being chosen as a guest of the First Lady, Michelle Obama, at President Obama’s State of the Union address, in recognition of his work in solving the “food desert” crisis.
Additionally, Brown is Founder and Chairman of UpLift Solutions, a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit organization that supports food businesses, government, and nonprofits to create sustainable environments for underserved communities.
Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College.
