ACT 48 Non-degree and Degree Continuing Professional Enrichment
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires six credits of graduate course work every five years for certified teachers in order for them to maintain their certification as active. This requirement is also known as Act 48.
All of Cabrini's graduate Education courses, usually with a prefix of EDG, count toward Act 48. Cabrini is glad to facilitate the fulfillment of these requirements by reporting six credits of course work for them every five years.
Certified teachers are also welcome to take courses at Cabrini in addition to their Act 48 requirements.
To register for Act 48 classes, students may use the Application for Non-degree, Visiting, or Professional Enrichment Student form.
This form is also available from the Graduate Studies Office on the first floor of Grace Hall.
Students also need to fill out a Class Registration Roster or a Summer Registration Roster, depending on the preferred semester of study.
For advising, please call the Graduate Studies Office at 610-902-8500.
