Federal loans are available to students pursuing a Master of Education, Master of Education with Teaching Certification, or certifications in Pre-kindergarten–Grade 4 or Secondary Education.
Federal loans are unavailable for students pursuing certification in special education, reading specialist, or principal/admin I without the Master of Education.
Students must take a minimum of six (6) credits each semester (spring, fall) and a total of six (6) credits in the summer. Credit ratings are not part of the qualification process.
The available funding will cover the annual cost of tuition in most cases, $20,500 a year (11 plus courses).
Of those who are eligible, nearly all can qualify for loans except those with a previous loan default or those already borrowing the maximum.
