Cabrini College is proud to honor The Haverford Trust Company and its founder, George W. Connell, at the 25th Annual Cabrini Classic on May 5, 2014.
The Haverford Trust Company and George Connell for many years served as a lead sponsor of the Cabrini Classic. It is only fitting that the College honor them on this significant anniversary of what has become the College’s largest fundraising event.
Connell founded The Haverford Trust Company in 1979 as Rittenhouse Financial Services, an investment advisory firm focused on high quality, dividend-paying equity securities.
Based in Radnor, Pa., Haverford has 75 employees and more than $7 billion under management or consultation.
Haverford’s “Quality Investing” philosophy is a disciplined commitment to maximizing returns while reducing risk throughout the entire market cycle.
The investment strategies incorporate large-cap, mid- and small-cap, and international equities with actively managed bonds. The company works with individuals, non‑profits, trusts, estates, and employee-benefit plans.
Community has always been a priority for Connell who has served on numerous non‑profit boards, including The Historical Society of Pennsylvania, The Morris Arboretum, and Northern Children Services.
He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania and is an avid golfer.
