A school may enter only one team consisting of 15 students in a regional tournament. State policy prohibits multiple teams from a single school competing in a regional tournament. Division B teams cannot include more than five (5) ninth-grade students. Division C teams cannot exceed more than seven (7) twelfth-grade students. The fee to register a team for the regional tournament is $225. This includes both National and State fees. A $65 late fee will be assessed in addition to the registration fee (total $290) if a membership form is received after the deadline and if the form is accepted and the team is allowed to compete. A school district entering teams from more than one school must submit a separate membership form for each school. However, multiple registration fees may be issued in one check. To Register Online registration is no longer availailable; all registrations must be via mail. No purchase orders will be accepted. Checks made payable to PA Science Olympiad will be returned. The registration fee entitles a school to: membership in National Science Olympiad; the Science Olympiad Coaches’ Manual with the rules, eligibility to participate at the first level (Regional) of competition in the State; and advancement to the State and National Tournament if qualified. The registration fee is to defray costs of coaches’ manuals, medals, trophies, equipment and materials for events, and expenses necessary for conducting Regional and State Tournaments. Coaches’ manuals will be mailed First Class to the designated address as soon as possible after the receipt of the completed membership form. The registration form can be mailed or sent by email to PaSciOly@cabrini.edu. Teams will not be permitted to compete at either invitational or regional competitions until the registration fee is received and processed. Additional teams from the same school can register for Invitational Tournaments only. |
