Cabrini students held a mock town meeting in Norristown's Municipal Hall as part of a course on Community and Economic Development to present development proposals for the Norristown community.
The following presentations are the result of outside research, conversations with people in the Norristown community, and in-class discussion. Each team was asked to create a development proposal for consideration by the Town Council (also composed of Cabrini students), who heard the arguments and made recommendations.
Town MarketThis team is advocating for the development of a Town Market, modeled after Baltimore's city markets. Team: Eric Euganeo, Andrew Jacobs, Kathleen Schuster, Patrick Trencansky

Business Improvement DistrictA group of area business owners has joined together and proposes the creation of a Business Improvement District in the downtown area. Team: Glenn Gale, Casey Grugan, Joe Monroe

Local MarketingBuilding on the town of Media's success as 'America's First Fair-Trade City', this group proposes a comprehensive marketing campaign to draw residents from surrounding communities into downtown Norristown. Team: Theresa Canamucio, Kaitlin Manning, Jessica Messina
