Since 1969, Wan Hua "Warren" Kuo has been president of Pearl of the East, Inc., a privately owned import/export trading company and furniture retailer with locations in Center City Philadelphia and the Main Line.
Kuo also serves as principal for The Kuo Group, a real estate holding company in Delaware County and the Main Line.
In addition, he and his wife, Margaret, own four restaurants in the western suburbs of Philadelphia: Margaret Kuo's in Wayne, Margaret Kuo's Mandarin in Malvern, and two Peking restaurants in Media.
Kuo earned a bachelor of arts in law from National Taiwan University Law School in Taipei. He pursued graduate studies in international law and political science at the University of Connecticut.
He has served on the board of directors for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce (1998-2004) and on the board of directors of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce (2002-2005).
The Kuos have two grown children, Mark and Paul.
