Barbara W. Rawls has more than 30 years of financial and systems experience in both entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 firms. She is a consultant who works with individual clients and major corporations.
Prior to her freelance consulting work, Rawls worked at Sun Company, Inc. in Radnor. She also has worked for Management and Computer Services, Inc. and for IBM, in Philadelphia.
Rawls attended Smith College and earned a bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in philosophy and mathematical logic from Stanford University. She earned a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, Cabrini awarded her an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters.
She has been active in several professional associations, such as the National Association of Manufacturers, the Philadelphia Finance Association, the Philadelphia Women's Network, the National Women's Coalition, Ludington Library and the Lower Merion Library Association.
Rawls is treasurer of the Feeling Blue Suicide Prevention Council. She is a member of the Appleford Committee and a member of the Board of the Montgomery County Emergency Services. In 1999, she presented a session on strategic planning at the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) Conference in Seattle.
