Co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer at Penn Liberty Bank in Wayne, Pa., Patrick Ward has nearly three decades of banking industry experience.
Previously, Ward was executive vice president of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, overseeing and managing specialized industries, including government banking, professional banking and not-for-profit businesses in the mid-Atlantic region.
He was also chairman and president of Citizens Bank in Delaware and a member of the Citizens Financial Group Executive Policy Committee.
Prior to that, Ward served as president and chief executive of Commonwealth Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Commonwealth Bank, until its acquisition by Citizens Bank in January 2003.
Under Ward's leadership, Commonwealth Bank grew to $1.8 billion in assets with 61 branches throughout eastern Pennsylvania.
Ward is active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Police Athletic League, Economics Pennsylvania and the Chester County Chamber Foundation.
Ward received a bachelor of science in economics from Carnegie Mellon University and a master of business administration from the University of Notre Dame.
