Mary Beth Senkewicz ’76 is associate general counsel and policy advisor at the D.C. Health Benefit Exchange Authority.
With more than 30 years of experience in health policy and insurance regulatory issues, Senkewicz helps to implement the District's State-Based Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act, writes legislation and regulations to support marketplace implementation and advises on policy issues.
Prior to that, Senkewicz was a consultant on federal legislation, state proposals, and insurance issues. Formerly, as deputy commissioner for the State of Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, Senkewicz oversaw financial solvency and compliance of health and life insurers and HMOs.
She also served as senior counsel for health policy at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in Washington, D.C.
This is Senkewicz’s second term on the Board; she served as an alumni trustee from 2002 to 2008.
In 2011, she received the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award for her noteworthy career achievements that embody Cabrini’s mission of leadership development, commitment to social justice and academic excellence.
Senkewicz received a bachelor of arts in English and philosophy at Cabrini College and a Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University.
