For more than 30 years, Elizabeth Riley Bell was a secondary school teacher of English in Catasauqua, Pa.
She is also an internationally known expert on single malt scotch whisky, having studied at the Scotch Whisky Research Institute, Heriott-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
She writes, lectures, and consults regularly in that field, and has most recently authored "The Smart Guide to Single Malt Scotch Whisky."
Educated at Cabrini College, Moravian College, and Lehigh University, where she earned degrees in English literature, Bell also has studied international trade law at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England.
She is a former member of the board of directors of the Alumni Association of Cabrini College and previously served on the board of trustees (1999-2005).
She was honored in 2009 with the Cabrini College Alumni Association's Distinguished Achievement Award.
Bell also served as a member of the board of the Library Media Project in Chicago. She and her husband, Raymond, live in Bethlehem, Pa.
