The safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors is paramount at Cabrini College.
The Department of Public Safety protects life and property and encourages a shared responsibility for the protection and safety of the individual and the community.
Public Safety officers patrol campus buildings and grounds 24 hours a day.
All members of the Department of Public Safety participate in annual training programs including CPR, first aid, use of the AED (automated external defibrillator), conflict and crisis resolution, patrol procedures, fire safety, and more.
In situations that could pose an immediate threat to the community and individuals, Public Safety will post safety alerts in each residence hall, the dining hall, Widener Campus Center, and academic spaces, as well as sending an email to students, staff, and faculty, and posting alerts online here.
Public Safety works with the Facilities Department and Residence Life to ensure the safety and security of College buildings and grounds. Emergency call boxes and phones are available throughout campus. At any time, students and employees may call Public Safety at 610-902-8245 to request an escort. The main entrances of each residence hall are accessed electronically through the College's ID-card system. The buildings are locked 24 hours a day, and Public Safety Officers and Residence Life staff check residence halls during their shifts.
Tips for Students: Lock your dorm room door at all times. Keep your key and ID card with you when you travel the campus. Engrave all personal property with a unique number known only to you. Use the buddy system, or if there is cause for concern, call Public Safety for an escort. In case of emergency, utilize the emergency call boxes located throughout campus.
Annual Security Report The Campus Safety Act—known as the Clery Act—provides students and families with information needed to make informed decisions regarding safety on college campuses. In accordance with federal guidelines, Cabrini College publishes annual statistics on crime on Cabrini’s campus (www.cabrini.edu/AnnualSecurityReport), and reports these statistics to the federal government. Contact the Director of Public Safety at 610-902-8251 for copies of incident or accident reports. |
