Federal Perkins Loans are awarded to students based on a combination of significant need as demonstrated on the FAFSA form and the availability of funds.
The interest rate for the Perkins Loan is 5%, and no interest or principle payments are due until 9 months after a student graduates (or drops below half-time status). Besides interest, there are no other fees associated with Federal Perkins Loans.
After you start to repay your Perkins Loan, if you skip a payment, make a payment late, or make less than a full payment, you may be assessed a late charge. If you continue not making payments as required, you will have to pay collection costs.
Cabrini College uses Campus Partners, a loan servicing center, to bill, collect payment, and provide loan services to students who have supplemented their tuition with a Perkins Loan.
